As we move into December and Christmas fast approaches, we wanted to share some great events happening in our next spotlight county; the Kingdom itself – Kerry. With its jutting peninsulas, spectacular Atlantic views and soaring mountaintops, it’s a truly magical place. And it has plenty going on this month if you fancy a festive visit! Festive Evening Market: Tralee 

The town of Tralee plays host once again to a charming Christmas market, running from Dec 8th – 10th. There’ll be a full programme of entertainment featuring local musicians and choirs, as well as lots of vendors showcasing the best of artisanal produce and crafts.

Christmas Parades: Killarney 

Next up, ‘Christmas in Killarney’. As part of this brilliant programme of events, there’ll be five parades taking place over the course of the month, right up until December 16th. Kids of all ages will love watching the festive floats go by, while soaking up the atmosphere in this bustling town.

New Year’s Fireworks: Dingle 

There’s something truly enchanting about the Dingle Peninsula. And what could possibly add to the magic? A fireworks display! Anyone heading to Dingle on December 31st will enjoy a huge celebration on the town’s streets to welcome in 2024. Kicking off with a spectacular fireworks display over Dingle Bay, a fife and drum band will then march through the streets, adding to what’s sure to be a fantastic atmosphere in the run-up to midnight.

Carols by Candlelight in Killarney 


Heading back to Killarney, step into the enchanting holiday spirit this year for a magical evening of carol singing at the Arbutus Hotel in the heart of Killarney. Immerse yourself in the festive candlelit atmosphere as the choir fills the air with classic Christmas songs. The Arbutus Hotel Carol Singing event takes place on the 12th  and the 19th of December and promises to be a heartwarming experience for the entire family!

Step into Christmas in Killorglin 

The town of Killorglin is gearing up for another magical festive season. This month, there will be a series of festive events as part of the ‘Step into Christmas in Killorglin’ event. Explore the Christmas markets at St. Michael’s Church Hall on December 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th from 11 am to 5 pm. Enjoy the cozy atmosphere filled with the scent of seasonal treats and the beautiful displays the vendors have offering an array of handcrafted gift. On December 9th, make it a day for the whole family as Santa himself graces the event. And for the budding artists, don't miss the Children's Colouring Competition, a perfect opportunity for young creatives to showcase their talents and win exciting prizes.
